Key Stage 1 - Curriculum
Key Stage 1
As children move from Reception they enter Key Stage 1 (KS1). This phase incorporates both Year 1 and Year 2. In KS1 we follow the National Curriculum and its Programmes of Study for the different subject areas.

Phonics
Phonics is taught throughout the school in both Early Years and KS1 and we follow Essential Letters and Sounds (ELS) as our teaching scheme for phonics. Phonics sessions are taught daily in each class and teaching is systematic through the different phases.
